Strengthening Teaching Through International Clinical Experience

Posted on

Dr. Mikhail Voblikov recently completed a four-week outpatient clinical rotation in Greenwich, Connecticut. During this rotation, he gained hands-on exposure to U.S. ambulatory clinical practice, actively participating in patient interactions, history taking, focused physical examinations, and clinical discussions within a structured outpatient workflow. The experience provided insight into evidence-based management, continuity of care, and interdisciplinary coordination in a real-world setting.

In addition to clinical responsibilities, he observed operational aspects of outpatient medicine, including electronic health record documentation, preventive care protocols, and follow-up planning. This exposure strengthened his understanding of patient-centered communication, efficiency models, and quality standards commonly applied in U.S. clinics.

The rotation contributes to his ongoing faculty professional development and enhances his ability to integrate contemporary U.S. clinical perspectives into his teaching at ACSOM. By incorporating these practical insights into case-based discussions and clinical skills training, he supports the preparation of students for modern, globally aligned medical practice.
