New Tutors Join the University Learning Center Workshop
Posted onThe Student Learning Center recently hosted an orientation workshop for new tutors, bringing together both new and experienced members of the team.The session focused on what tutoring looks like in practice and on key expectations for the role.
To make the training more interactive, experienced tutors performed a short mini‑sketch showing how a tutoring session should not be conducted, and then repeated it in a more effective way after discussing the mistakes with new tutors.
We also talked about the main requirements for becoming a tutor, the benefits of tutoring, and the skills tutors can develop through this role. New tutors asked questions to the Learning Center team and to experienced tutors, who shared practical tips based on their own tutoring experience.
As the Learning Center team, we are glad to welcome our new tutors and wish them every success as they join our community. Together with them, we continue to build a supportive learning environment, where students have space to ask questions, revisit challenging topics, and quietly strengthen their skills over time.
